Yesterday, I was watching the TV and I saw Smart Communication's HelLow - the first (1st) reloadable IDD card commercial. This is the solution to our "how-to-call-abroad-for-less" problems! So using my cellphone, I contacted Smart's Customer Service and ask for some information about this service. Here are those:
Smart HelLow allows Smart and Talk 'N Text subscribers to call to 17 key destinations where the most number of Filipinos are found. Don't worry because Smart will be adding more destinations soon!
The specific Rate-Per-Minute and corresponding countries are listed below:
a. P2.50/min = US, Canada, Guam, Hawaii
b. P5.00/min = Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, China, Malaysia, Hong Kong
c. P8.00/min = Japan, Australia, UK, Italy, Thailand
d. P10.00/min = Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates
e. $0.40/min = All other countries (about P20/min)
Wow! That is one great service from the Philippines' largest network, Smart. It gives the Filipino people the chance to talk with their OFW relatives for a very affordable cost.
Here are some notes from techie.com.ph about Smart HelLow:Smart HelLow card can be purchased by anyone from any Smart Wireless Center and other accredited resellers nationwide. You, for example, can get one from your suking tindahan, then key in the unique account number and PIN on your phone, and you can start making calls! You can even use your neighbor's cellphone – the per-minute charge is deducted from your Hellow account and not from your kabitbahay's SIM in the handset.
The reloadable IDD card comes preloaded with P30 load which may be used up to the last P2.50. Subsequent, sachet-sized load comes in denominations of as low as P15.
