Now that I have a Wordpress blog (courtesy of Jehzlau Concepts), I need to put some of my time and efforts on that site. Honestly, I find it very hard to configure the Wordpress CMS at first but now, I'm getting used to it.
As a part of Wordpress customization, I need to install some plugins into it so that my blog will work well on the Web. Here are some of the best Wordpress plugins that are installed on my Wordpress blog:
1. Akismet - Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not.
2. All in One SEO Pack - Out-of-the-box SEO for my Wordpress blog. This plugin is for title tags, descriptions and keywords purposes.
3. Contact Form 7 - This plugin is used to create a simple but nice contact form.
4. Global Translator - This plugin automatically translates my blog in 41 different languages by wrapping four different online translation engines. It will help your readers that can't understand English.
5. Google Analytics for WordPress - This plugin makes it simple to add Google Analytics with extra search engines and automatic clickout and download tracking to your WordPress blog. Nice!
6. Google XML Sitemaps - This plugin will generate a sitemaps.org compatible sitemap of your WordPress blog which is supported by Ask.com, Google, MSN Search and Yahoo. In short, for better indexing!
7. Login LockDown - Adds some extra security to WordPress by restricting the rate at which failed logins can be re-attempted from a given IP range.
8. Permalink Redirect - This plugin ensures that pages and entries are always accessed via the permalink. Otherwise, a 301 redirect will be issued.
9. Smilies Themer Toolbar - This plugin adds a toolbar so you can easily add smilies to your comments!
10. WP Super Cache - Very fast caching plugin for WordPress.
And those are my 10 best Wordpress plugins that are currently running on my blog. Their features are really awesome! If you have your own list of best plugins, you can inform it to me using the comment box.
