Some of our graphic designers are looking for an alternative for Adobe Photoshop. Well, the reason is, Adobe Photoshop is not free and you should purchase a license. It will really cost you a lot. Why don't use a free image manipulation software like GIMP? What is GIMP?
GIMP stands for GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is an open source software that's why you don't have to worry about paying something. If you are using some linux distribution like ubuntu, it has already GIMP installed on it. Using GIMP, you can edit photos, re-size pictures or create anything you want on graphics, just like Photoshop.
Yes, if you are looking for an Adobe Photoshop alternative, I think GIMP is the best for you. It is absolutely free for download on their website.
Of course, it is better to invest for a good graphic editing software but since you are just a beginner, it is not wrong to try some open-source software at first. Try GIMP!
